About Locman Ducati
The LOCMAN DUCATI collection is a project created from a combination of two pillars of Italian excellence. They share the same values: a sporting spirit, state-of-the-art technology and a passion for exclusive design. The philosophy behind their creations is identical: continuous research into materials and style, development of technological innovations and increasingly powerful functions. The target audience is also similar: LOCMAN fans, like Ducati fans, have an unconventional approach to life.
Established in 2017, the partnership between LOCMAN and DUCATI has resulted in three series of models, designed and developed in tandem by the factories’ style departments.
The first series, released in 2018, features the tonneau shape, evoking the dynamism and adrenaline of a motorbike race. The second, from 2019, focuses on the circle motif. The third, from this year, is a special limited edition of 100 numbered timepieces.
As varied in their mechanics as they are in their aesthetics, the watches in the LOCMAN DUCATI collection nevertheless manage to embody the design, reliability and technological innovations of the famous motorcycle brand, adapting it to the wrist.
The LOCMAN DUCATI collection comprises four models: two three-hand timepieces (one mechanical and one quartz) and three chronographs (one self-winding with three counters, continuous seconds and day date, and two quartz). The mechanical version is equipped with a self-winding movement, the calibre SIO1, developed by the technicians of the Scuola Italiana di Orologeria (Italian School of Watchmaking) LOCMAN’s in-house academy. Featuring a black oscillating weight customised with the DUCATI logo, it can be admired through the crystal aperture on the case back.
The case features circular motifs reminiscent of the holes drilled in the frames and mechanical components of motorbikes to lighten their structure. They can be found on the hands, lugs, crown and chronograph buttons, and even on the strap. The materials also have racing in their DNA: titanium and carbon fibre, for example, which are extremely light but strong. And the dials are inspired by the dashboard: from the famous shield to the classic shades of DUCATI yellow and red, nothing is left to chance.
